Dear All

Due to the serious accident that occurred today on the East Bridge there will be a need to close all access across the bridge including pedestrian access until Surrey County Council has had the opportunity to assess the safety of the bridge and any structural damage. Diversions will be put in place this evening.

As the bridge is a scheduled monument any interim and long term works to the bridge will have to be agreed through English Heritage and therefore timescales are uncertain.

As soon as I hear back with regards to timeframes and works I will update you all and the website.
